The XL430-W250-T Dynamixel servo with a TTL interface falls in the family of “low cost” servo motors, but it still provides great flexibility of assembly and use, and a compact design for all your small creations.
Dynamixel XL430-W250-T servo motor: a small, high performance servo
Designed for users on a budget, the Dynamixel XL430-W250-T servo motor by Robotis offers nonetheless the high quality features from the Dynamixel X series, such as velocity and position control at 360° with its contactless magnetic encoder. Energy efficient with improved operation time, this small servo uses 40 mA versus 100 mA for the previous models. It has the same mechanical structure as the XM430 and XH430 and is compatible with the respective models.
As usual, you can use your PC (Windows, Mac, or Linux) with the USB2Dynamixel, the U2D2 connector or a suitable microcontroller to control your Dynamixel servo (see below the list of the required components):
- OpenCM9.04-A control board

- SMPS charger and Power Cord for Dynamixel servomotors
- (or) LBS-10 LiPo 11V battery for Dynamixel<servomotor
You’ll be able to choose between 6 operating modes, use profile control, and monitor various data such as speed, position, trajectory, and so on.

The hollow back case of this Robotis servo offers many connection configurations, so you can position it the best way according to your project. The frames can be screwed directly into the case with a minimum of bother (no nuts needed).
Plus, the aluminium case offers improved heat sink.

Check that your Dynamixel servomotor is correctly configured. Do not hesitate to re-flash it with the ROBOTIS Software Roboplus. After re-flash remember to re-configure it. If the issue is not solved, contact us for an advanced support.
The motor is probably not well mounted. Check that you correctly mounted the horns by respecting the mark.
There is probably a mechanical issue with the Dynamixel servomotor. You can directly contact us to get more advance support.
Check your power supply and the system cabling (try with a different servomotor). You can also reset the servo. If nothing works, the best solution is to go through the Dynamixel servomotor checklist!
The 1.0 protocol is dedicated to the Dynamixel AX and MX series. Protocol 2.0 is for the X and Dynamixel Pro series. Protocol 2.0 control tables include PID controls which allow for more precise adjustment of the servo motor movements. Protocol 2.0 can be updated on MX series servo motors.
